In memory of Beth Fender, who founded Belper's two poetry groups, a public art trail of 20 installations featuring poems or extracts of poems has been developed.
Newly-commissioned poetry joins well-known old favourites by Wendy Cope, Spike Milligan, Philip Larkin and more - something to appeal to everyone.
The poetry sites include the railway station, library, Memorial Gardens, River Gardens, St John's Chapel, Queens Head pub and Market Place. The installations are in a variety of media - recycled glass, slate, stone, wood and even copper-headed nails amongst others.
